What Nirai is
Nirai Tech Inc. is a majority woman-owned technology advisory and engineering consultancy based in New Brunswick. We work with growing businesses, startups, and non-profits that need senior technical leadership but not a full-time executive.
We diagnose operational bottlenecks, run digital and AI feasibility studies, de-risk software investments, and architect modern cloud systems.
We keep the practice deliberately small and hands-on. You work directly with the people doing the thinking and the building, backed by starter kits we’ve refined across real engagements.

Shanthi Shanmugam
Managing Principal
Shanthi leads Nirai as its Managing Principal.
Vagmi serves as Advisory CTO on client engagements. He brings 24+ years of enterprise architecture and distributed systems experience, from Rust and Go services to Terraform and Kubernetes platforms.
His view: AI-assisted coding has made velocity cheap, but it hasn’t solved engineering judgment or the hard architectural calls. That judgment is what Nirai brings.
He also writes about the craft on the Engineering Log and teaches the Builder Workshop.
